Chandra - Here's My Card

back when we were hippies
we used to sneak outside to smoke crayolas
and bitch about the system over coffee after dark
in the dying rays of summer days
you used to ask me to play stairway to heaven
and pass me a little glass pipe to hit on the grassy river park

and we were going to save world someday but i can't remember how
chandra where the hell are you now

then we turned into punkers
and you wore a sexy doggie collar
too much makeup
and we made believe insane
we did our best to squeeze joy from life
'cause we were psycho versions of jack and diane
we're the all-american kids from the heartland and we're raging against the grain

now and then i think back to when regrets could not be allowed
chandra where the hell are you now

then we turned into vampires
and tried to hide from the vampire hunters
everything seemed much too real and so we only came out at night
we saw the world from a different view
and you'd look at me like i was stupid
and i looked at you like you were dying
and maybe we both were right

and i don't play much led zepplin but i still remember how
chandra where the hell are you now
